Identities: Poetry

Identities is a collection of poetry written by Damages author Bazhe. I recommend you read his novel Damages before reading his poetry. You come to understand and relate more with him on a more personal level that way. Some poems do not reflect against his book but they are all very enjoyable.

I cannot elaborate on each poem written by Bazhe but I can tell you about one of my many favorites. It is called Gypsy Night and it is wonderfully descriptive. I can picture the Gypsy woman weaving her spells with dance throughout the night. It was so beautiful and I thought of it many times while going through the other poems.

Bazhe is a very talented author who lets his heart pour onto the pages exactly what he is feeling. Some emotions depicted were anger, sadness, and joy, each emotion blended beautifully with the poem I was reading at the time. Bazhe has not led an easy life by any means and if he can keep getting his feelings onto paper, then he will rise to the top. 5 Hearts

Dead Perfect

Shannah Davis did not wish to die although it seemed inevitable. The doctors could not find a cure, resulting in 24 year old Shannah’s failing health and impending death. In search of the one thing that could save her from death, what would she do once she found him? Pass out on his doorstep?

After following her mysterious dark clothed stranger for almost 5 months, she tempted fate. If he truly was a vampire he would be able to make her immortal, but if he was just a regular man, she was doomed to die. If offered the Dark Gift, would her mortal heart accept?

Ronan knew he was being followed by the girl, he just didn’t expect to see her at this time of day. When Shannah fainted on his doorstep, he braved the sun to bring her inside. The droplets of blood from the fall were all too tempting; when he tasted her, he tasted death.

Ronan needed Shannah and it was obvious Shannah needed Ronan. He offered her a tempting deal, in which she accepted. Pretended to be his pseudonym as a romance author, go on tour and do book signings as it was hardly believable that a man could write such enticing stories. Shannah enjoyed the fame for a time, until the hunter showed up.

Love finds Ronan after 513 years, but she is a mortal and dying. Shannah does not know the truth about Ronan, he never admitted to being a vampire, but does the heart care? When you go in search of something, make sure you’re willing to accept the consequences. How will Shannah feel when Ronan makes a decision for the both of them that can possibly drive Shannah away? Will Ronan be able to live with his breaking heart?

Amanda Ashley’s vampire romance novel, Dead Perfect is compelling! Ms. Ashley has the thrall of a vampire on her side. I started reading Dead Perfect right before bed, and my very first thought when I awoke was, “I need to finish that book!” Amanda Ashley’s vivid characters and fantastic storyline were remarkable! Ms. Ashley has been a favorite of mine for years, and never once has she let me down. Dead Perfect has just raised the bar on Vampire Romance. 5 Hearts

This Historical Romance, Sinful Between The Sheets is the second novel in Barbara Pierce's outstanding series. The characters and storyline are so strong this could be wonderful stand-alone book. I on the other hand want to read each and every novel in the series. I loved the way Ms. Pierce kept me enthralled from the very beginning. From the Prologue I was hooked. I did not want to put this book down; I even took it to the bedroom reading late into the night.

Ms. Pierce has a knack for compiling action, suspense and romance together to form a mind-blowing and addictive read. I am sure we will be hearing much more from this fabulous author in the future. 5 Hearts!!

His And Hers (Zebra Historical Romance)

Jane Ellingson is about to take the trip of a lifetime. Sitting in the local Starbucks reflecting on the past misshapes in her life, she finds a wishing stone sitting on the window ledge with a note attached. Now, what could one little wish hurt? Would it be so bad to be whisked away to another place and time where no one knows you and you could just start all over? A modern day girl, transported back in time to the Victorian era, how will she adjust to the much “simpler” times?

James Dempsey is the man that Jane is destined by the author (in the beginning) writing the story to be with. Confused? Jane is transported back in time and is the heroine of a romance novel, written by Mary Bellingham. As the author takes breaks, it gives the characters time to explore the grounds, feelings and emotions, but as soon as Ms. Bellingham has the pen in hand, she begins to narrate the lives of everyone once again. James is constantly telling Jane she must put forth more effort to make Mary’s story come to life.

Jane knows that Mary wants her to marry James, but it is the other Dempsey brother, Curran that intrigues her. Now wouldn’t that be an interesting plot twist? Curran and James are not on the best of terms, it is rumored that Curran has the devil in him. Could Jane be the Angel to his saving grace? Will the author approve of the match making…or will there even be a match? If the opportunity were to arise, would Jane stay in the historical realm in which she now resides or will she leave everything including love behind?

Dawn Calvert’s historical time travel romance is such a sweet read. The characters are loveable as well as lively and opinionated. It does get a little slow at times, but all in all it was very enjoyable. 4 Hearts

Riding the Thunder (The Sisters of Colford Hall, Book 2)

Jago Fitzgerald Mershan was on a mission to invade the Montgomerie empire along with his two brothers Trev, and Des. His task was to go to Kentucky and convince a horse park and hotel to sell to Trident Ventures and then the Mershan corporation would buy the Trident stocks. It was not a difficult thing to understand, but it was done with a purpose…revenge. Revenge on Sean Montgomerie for defaulting on a loan payment purposely, resulting in the suicide of the Mershan brothers’ father. Desmond the eldest of the three vowed to run the Montgomeries into the ground, hit them where it hurts, starting with Sean’s Granddaughters.

The moment Asha Montgomerie walked into the diner, Jago knew this woman would be the thing to quench his restlessness. He craved something, it did not take long to figure out the answer was her. He should have been upfront with her from the start, but he wanted so much to accomplish his task. The woman was everything he could ever hope for and so much more. But being torn between his love and loyalty to his brother, he could possibly lose the love of a lifetime.

Asha had learned the hard way not to trust pretty men, but his entrancing green-eyed gaze was something special. They had a connection, once described as Auld Souls. He wanted her land and her body, she wanted him to give up on purchasing The Windmill and the horse farm. But what she wanted most was for him to whisper those three words hanging on the tip of her tongue.

The Windmill was a place for lost souls, even a couple which were not amongst the living. The old 60’s Wurlitzer jukebox had a mind of its own, and Asha was about to find out the reason. With glimpses of another girl’s life with her love by her side, Asha didn’t know what to make of the visions. She chocked it up to her fey intuition, but it was much more than that. It was a constant sign, and the Wurlitzer would be there coming to life and playing songs on its own accord. You see, The Windmill was haunted.

Jago did not come to Kentucky to find love in the eyes of an Irish lass, but thank fate for sending him to Nowheresville! Love is not something to be tampered with, and when Asha finds out the truth she may change her mind about Jago completely. She also has to worry about Monty Faulkner skulking around, plotting revenge against her; hopefully history does not repeat itself.

Deborah MacGillivray’s romance novel, Riding The Thunder is the second book in the Dorchester of the Sisters of Colford Hall series. Riding the Thunder is strong enough to be a stand alone book, but honestly you should read The Invasion of Falgannon Isle, it ties everything together. I could sit and read Deborah MacGillivray’s writings all day, they’re filled with love, romance, and such passion one could only hope to find in their lifetime. Ms. MacGillivray is one of my very favorite authors, she compiles humor into the stories and makes them such a refreshing read. Also, notice the cats in the books, how they just appear! The only fault I have is the silly jukebox song “Surfin’ Bird” is constantly replaying in my mind, no thanks to the old Wurlitzer!! 5 Hearts

The Stephens Case: The Mortal Vampire

Detective Stephens worked for the Lead Police Department, and right now he was working on the case of someone murdering well dressed business men. The murders were done in the fashion of a vampire draining the blood from the victims through two small puncture holes in the neck. Something about this case seemed wrong from the very beginning and it would take a master detective and his partner to solve this mystery.

There was no evidence left on the scenes until one day when The Mortal Vampire,as the killer was called didn't completely take care of business; he left a victim alive. Detective Stephens had all the lead he needed to bring Officer C.J. down for all the murders. Only Officer C.J. saw what was coming and planned a crafty escape shattering Stephens knee in the process.

Upon autopsy it was discovered the victims were tranquilized before their bodies were drained. But there was still the unanswered question...where is the blood? A shocking revelation says that Officer C.J. is not the murder; then who is?

Mr. Bradfute is a mysterious storyteller that captured my attention from the start. The ending left me wanting more, because I honestly still have no idea who the Mortal Vampire truly is! The Mortal Vampire is the first book in a Suspense/Thriller series that I would highly recommend and will definitely be reading as the stories come out. Mr. Bradfute is a new name to the literary world that I know we will be hearing more from in the future! 5 Hearts

The Secret of Instant Healing

If you had the power to heal soreness, aches, pains, emotional distress, or any other problems while healing yourself, would you do it? There are no adverse effects to you as the healer/healed; actually you benefit from just being aware.

I will admit I was very skeptical while reviewing The Secret of Instant Healing; in the beginning. As I followed the step by step exercises to finding pure awareness and Quantum Entrainment; as well as completing the little tests Mr. Kinslow introduces, I quickly became a believer! I could focus my energy on my middle finger and it actually appeared to grow longer than the one on my opposite hand. Thank goodness it went back to normal!

This book is a step by step guide on awakening the inner awareness inside of you; with a little humor here and there. You can learn how to heal without medicines, acupuncture, or old family remedies; just by using your mind and energy within your body or the body of the person you are healing at that time.

The Secret of Instant Healing by Frank J. Kinslow is a strangely true book that I will re-read and follow more closely so that I can always be aware and keep my skills honed in the instance that they are needed. I felt like Mr. Kinslow was sitting right next to me talking as a friend with his silly comments thrown in and the natural way the words seemed to flow. A truly enjoyable and informative read that will open your eyes and your awareness. 4 Hearts Contact Frank J. Kinslow at www.QuantumEntrainment.org
