Wulf is unique, even among the Dark-Hunters. Five minutes after leaving his presence humans forget he was ever there. Only other members of his bloodline, like his squire Chris, or other paranormals, can remember him.
Cassandra is also unique, she's not just an Apollite, she's the last direct link to Apollo. She's been hunted her whole life because other Apollites believe her death will set them free. She believes it's all a myth, but knows she's doomed to die in a few months anyway. Her 27th birthday isn't far off. Despite both her and the Apollites beliefs about her death, they are all wrong. When Cassandra dies, so does the world.
Thanks to some meddling gods, Wulf has found himself guarding his enemy- an enemy he finds far too attractive. And one who is turning every one of his beliefs on its head. How can he fall for someone he's supposed to hate? How can he risk it all when she's doomed to die? How can he not?
I love everything Sherrilyn Kenyon writes, but wow, did I love this story. I love the idea of a Dark-Hunter and an Apollite finding love against all odds. Throughout this entire story it was like there was a time bomb in the background and I was just waiting to see when it would go off, or if it would be stopped in time. Bravo, Ms. Kenyon. I can't wait to pick up my next Dark-Hunter book. Review By bookmaedin |
