Description/Synopsis:

An ancient secret brotherhood.
A devastating new weapon of destruction.
An unthinkable target.

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization -- the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth...the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

Extremely predictable. I read Da Vinci Code prior to this book and it seemed to be a mirror image. I found myself skipping over portions of meaningless dialog intended to hold your hand in putting obvious plot pieces together. At the beginning of every Dan Brown novel, just ask yourself, "who is a primary character who doesn't seem like they would be the one behind it all", then that's who it is. Will be entertaining for people whose personal library is very limited.

One of the best books I've read yet. Simply amazing, Dan Brown has a way of keeping you on the edge. I personally liked this one more than the DaVinci Code although that book is also up there on the top 50.

This became so stupid at the end that I felt like I wasted my time. What a disappointment. I have no desire to DaVinci Code after reading this.

Angels & Demons is a great suspense/thriller that I was unable to put down. The ever present idea of looking beyond the obvious and seeking for the clues brings the reader on an roller coaster of dramatic climaxs that leaves you breathless and causes you to wonder about the exact going-on's behind the most secretive of all Vatican events.
